The Living Hope of a New Creation
This meditation invites us to live with the end in mind, drawing from the magnificent vision of Revelation 21 where God promises to make all things new. We're challenged to consider how knowing the ending of God's story transforms the way we navigate our present circumstances. Just as watching a recorded game with knowledge of the outcome changes our anxiety level, understanding that Christ has already secured ultimate victory should reshape our daily choices and attitudes. The message doesn't ask us to ignore our pain or pretend everything is fine—it acknowledges our tears, grief, and struggles—but it anchors us in the certain hope that Jesus will one day eliminate all suffering, death, and sorrow. During Advent, we celebrate not only Christ's first coming as a baby in Bethlehem but also anticipate His second coming when He will establish His kingdom fully. The phrase 'it is done' from the cross reminds us that our salvation is already paid in full, and the promise of a world without tears, death, mourning, or pain awaits those who come thirsty for the grace Christ offers. This perspective empowers us to walk with boldness through present difficulties, knowing we're heading toward a glorious destination where every wrong will be righted and we'll finally see our Savior face to face.
