Mission & Outreach

The purpose of Mission & Outreach here at Good Shepherd is to demonstrate Christ's love by serving, supporting, and uplifting our community and the world! From local ministries to global initiatives, our team is passionate about living out our vision so that we can be a testimony to Christ as His light and salt of the world (Matthew 5:13-16).

• We sponsor a child in Haiti year-round through Compassion International.
• We currently have teams that participate in supporting local ministries such as Operation 143. We hold collection drives monthly for Preston's Pantry and often support Hope Rescue Mission, Safe Berks, and initiatives such as Baby Manna. 
• Throughout the year we promote special offerings to support Our Church's Wider Mission nationally and globally.
• We support Samaritan's Purse with Operation Christmas Child.
• The author of Hebrews urges us to “remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering” (Hebrews 13:3). We support our brothers and sisters around the globe who are persecuted for their faith in Christ through Voice of the Martyrs.  
• Shepherd's Cafe is currently Wednesdays from 12PM-1PM in Zwingli Hall for a meal & fellowship!

Donate towards the cost of items for shipping! It costs $10/box to ship around the world- Just a fraction of what it would cost to ship it there ourselves. Designate your offering in a giving envelope, or give directly online at gsuccboyertown.org/give.

• "WOW" ITEMS such as soccer ball with pump, doll, stuffed animal, shoes
• TOY ITEMS such as toy cars, jump ropes, yo-yos, light up and sound toys (including extra batteries)
• PERSONAL CARE ITEMS such as toothbrushes, washcloths, combs, hairbrushes
• SCHOOL ITEMS such as pens, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, coloring or picture books, solar calculators
• ACCESSORIES ITEMS such as socks, sunglasses, jewelry, watches, flashlights (including extra batteries)

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT: Candy, gum, seeds, food, toothpaste, soap, medications or vitamins, used or damaged items, lotions or liquids, breakable items or glass containers, aerosol cans, scary or war-related items.

Operation 143 is a local faith-based organization that strives to live out God's call to do all things in love...by feeding His children! Volunteers at Good Shepherd pack often meals at their facility to deliver food on the weekends to children facing hunger, food insecurities, & access to food outside of a school day.
