In the book of James, we read how “Elijah was a human being, even as we are.” (James 5:17). This commonality with Elijah is often hard for us to believe when we encounter the epic events of his story. But the powerful acts of God in his life were not due to Elijah’s goodness and might, but God’s greatness and power. Elijah is like so many of us. He suffered with anxiety, despair, doubt, weakness, and loneliness. But by living a life of persevering faith and dependence on God’s grace, power and presence, God used him to confront the wayward and display God’s glory and truth. During this 9 week series, beginning May 18th, we will discover how to experience God’s presence, power, and provision.
