First Youth Group of the Year!

Mark your calendars for September 15th for our first youth group of the year! All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to attend and bring a friend for food and fellowship. We will meet from 11-12 in the youth room. If you have any questions, please reach out to Doug Parry at the church office.

Youth Ministry Luncheon

Additionally, ALL youth and families in Good Shepherd are invited to a Youth Ministry Luncheon and town hall on September 22nd starting at 11:00 am in Zwingli Hall to discuss youth ministry opportunities.

If you would like to attend, please call the church office or click here to email Doug Parry to RSVP by September 15th so we can make sure we plan accordingly for food. This event is free and open to all families in our church.

Middle School Ministry:

From 6th to 8th grade, youth are eligible for Confirmation Class. A 2 year program in which they dive deeper and learn what it means to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. These classes are Sunday Mornings prior to Sunday service and acts as the middle school Sunday School. The confirmands go on 2 retreats a year with their confirmation guides as well as their confirmation mentors, adult leaders from the church that help to mentor the growth and faith formation of the confirmands through the confirmation process and beyond. Confirmation class acts as Sunday school for this age group, many of the fellowship opportunities offered to our senior high youth are opened to our middle school youth as well.

Senior High Ministry:

Senior High ministry starts the fall after the completion of Confirmation class or at the start of the youth’s 9th grade year and runs through the end of their senior year of high school. We meet for youth group twice a month on Sunday’s following church for fellowship and Bible study. We also meet monthly for fellowship activities. Below are examples of previous activities done, with events with asterisks noting annual events as well: September- Back to School BBQ* October- Wilcox’s Corn Maze* November- White Elephant Sale* December- Live Nativity* as part of the Boyertown Holiday House Tour January- Christmas Party* March- Palm Sunday Bake off fundraiser* Summer- Mission Trip. In the past, we have gone to Heifer International as well as the Appalachian Service Project. We have also participated in the UCC National Youth Gathering and regional youth gatherings in the past and hope to participate with them in the future! Aside from the annual events, we have done Escape Rooms, attended Lehigh Valley Phantoms games, as well as various community events.
